Men are silent creatures and shy away from voicing feelings. They like to protect the image of being a man (read, strong man), which leads to them suffering in silence. Mental health is at stake due to societal pressure. Biases that expect men to be perfect and in control, to be breadwinners, to be good sons, sons-in-law, good fathers, brothers, husbands/ partners, and be good, responsible human beings, exist even today. The pressure can be crushing and may become too much to bear. This may lead men to anxiety, depression, suicide, broken relationships, and even professional setbacks.
Life coaching can help men come out of their shells, express more, achieve a balance between multiple roles they play, and perform well in their careers.

Quarter-life crisis
After teenage, young adults (18-30) may experience a situation known as quarter life crisis. As per psychologist Alex Fowke, it is “a period of insecurity, doubt and disappointment surrounding your career, relationships and financial situation”.
Classic symptoms of the quarter-life crisis include – feeling empty, overwhelmed, bleak, lonely, disconnected, bored, and demotivated. It is an existential crisis that makes you question the meaning of life.
I coach 20-somethings to handle the crisis and emerge stronger, clearer, and more focused on the big picture.

Mid-life crisis
The typical age group that experiences mid-life crisis is 45 to 65 years. This is a period when humans go through a feeling of impending doom/death. Classic symptoms include: impacted sexual desires, apathy, frequent mood, and behavior changes, taking extra time for grooming, drastic career changes, taking major life decisions on a whim, comparing with others, getting attracted to younger women, and taking to drinking more frequently, among others. It is a proven fact that more suicides happen during this stage.
I coach men during their mid-life transition which helps keep the crisis in check. If at all, it gets into the crisis stage, coaching can help men tide over the period with confidence and determination without it letting interfering in their overall performance or behavior.
- Andropause
- This is akin to menopause in women. The male hormone decreases with age and leaves behind some symptoms like low sex drive, lack of energy, depression, irritability and mood swings, loss of strength or muscle mass, increased body fat, and hot flashes.
During andropause, while no one can stop the physical changes from happening, coaching can help in addressing the mental makeup of these men. If you feel any of these symptoms are hampering your personal or professional achievements, please fill in the form below for a complimentary15 minute discovery call.

- Mental health
The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), US, reports that men are less likely than women to have received formal mental health support in the past year. Firstly, they face mental health stigma and secondly, they have no support. Depending on how deep they are into it, they might need coaching or they might need therapy.
I coach men with mental health issues to minimize the impact of this situation on their lives and careers.
